Cambodia is a pretty safe country for travelers these days, but remember the golden rule: stick to marked paths in remote area (because of land mines). Although most visits are trouble-free, there are crime reports including bag snatchings and bag-straps cutting.
During your time in Cambodia, always keep a photocopy of your passport, airline tickets and credit card numbers. These copies should be kept in a safe place apart from the originals. You should keep the valuables in hotel safety deposit boxes wherever possible.
When you travel around, it’s best to minimize the items you carry with, avoid placing bags freely, be wary of pickpockets in crowded areas and take extra care at night and in isolated areas.
