Vietnam is a potential and well-developing market to many merchants in the Orient areas as well as from other side of the planet. So naturally, many foreign companies are trying to dig in and expand their business here with an initial step that is establishing representative office (“RO”) in Vietnam. The RO shall work on behalf of its parent company in Vietnam, or in a certain region in Vietnam with functions such as liaising customers, partners in Vietnam with parent company, researching and promoting parent company on market and alike. Both Vietnamese and foreign company can establish their representative office but each has a different set of requirements. The documents above should be issued by the competent authority of the country where the company is operating, and MUST have consular authentication by Vietnamese embassy/consulate as well as notarized Vietnamese translation for submitting.
