SINGAPORE VISA FOR FOREIGNERS WHO WORKING - LIVING IN VIETNAM

Singapore is not only a famous tourist attraction but also a very tempting economy for doing business. One of the plus sides when visiting Singapore is that it is easy, fast and convenient to get a visa. Almost all applications can be carried out online with a few simple steps. The fee charged is reasonable and in some cases, it is even free. Because Vietnam is very close to Singapore, it is not hard to see why a lot of foreign tourists, investors and businessmen love travelling between the countries. Today, we would like to introduce to you all information for a foreigner in Vietnam to obtain Singapore visa.

WHO MUST APPLY SINGAPORE VISA?

Foreign visitors to Singapore normally apply for an electronic arrival card to enter because this is a fast, convenient and cheap way to gain permission for entry. However, the government of Singapore also has some restrictions on using this online service. In particular, if you are holding passport of the countries in the list below, you will need to apply for a visa in the traditional way:

HIGHLIGHTS OF SINGAPORE VISA FOR FOREIGNERS WHO ARE WORKING IN VIETNAM

- Form of visa: namely e-Visa for Republic of Singapore

The result shall be informed via email in a pdf file and you need to print out this paper in order to enter. Please refer a sample of the visa at the end of this article.

- For foreigners residing in Vietnam, they need to provide their temporary resident confirmation from the local police with an authorized signature and seal. Please not that although Vietnamese government is encouraging the domicile owners to register residence online for foreigners, this online confirmation is not yet approved for Singaporean visa.

- To obtain Singapore Business visa, the inviting company in Singapore must submit a copy of their Business Registration and ID card of the legal representative who must be a Singapore citizen/ Singapore Permanent Resident and over 21 years old. All of these papers must be attached to the Singapore Business Visa application in Vietnam. These are personal information, so some company may be reluctant to share with you. However, since this is compulsory requirements, applicants should discuss with the inviting company to complete the dossiers.

SINGAPORE VISA IN VIETNAM – WHAT DOCUMENTS FOREIGNERS NEED TO PREPARE?

Required documents for all types of visa:

1) Completed Form 14A

2) One recent passport-sized color photograph, taken within the last 3 months, showing the full face and without headgear

3) Photocopy of the applicant's passport biodata page. Please ensure that the passport is valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry and still has blank pages.

4) Form V39A (Letter of Introduction for Visa Application).

Letter of Introduction (LOI) is issued by a local contact in Singapore. The local contact may be a Singapore registered business entity (for business visa) or a Singapore Citizen / Singapore Permanent Resident (for visiting visa). The person acting on behalf of the business entity or Singapore Citizen or Singapore Permanent Resident must be at least 21 years old.

5) Copy of Vietnam Permanent Residence Card / Vietnam Temporary Residence Card / Residence Registration Book -> confirmed and stamped by Police of the Ward;

6) Copy of Vietnam Visa and Work permit (if any);

7) Air ticket booking (in and out Singapore) and hotel booking;

For Business Visa, hosting company in Singapore must provide further:

1) Copy of the Singapore registered business entity’s detailed business profile

-> (showing the names of all the directors / shareholders) from the Instant Information Service, Accounting and Corporate Regulatory Authority (ACRA) and printed within the last 3 months.

2) Invitation letter

For application for tourist, visiting family, friend, relative visa, additional paper includes:

1) A copy of local contact's Singapore Identity Card.

Some notes for the application:

- The applicant and the local contact may be required to furnish additional documents and information whenever necessary.

- Official translations of the documents are required if they are not in the English language.

- The original(s) is/are required to be presented at point of application for checking purposes and will be returned immediately.
